If you are gone for extended periods of time during the day you may want to consider purchasing a puppy pen for your puppy. A puppy pen provides a safe area for your puppy to stay when your not able to monitor him and he is being house-trained. An exercise pen can be used outside to designate the place where you would like your puppy to eliminate and multiple pens can be connected to make a small portable yard for you pet. If you decide to confine your puppy to a small room (such as a bathroom or kitchen) he will most likely chew on the cabinets while he is teething. Remember, prevention is the key when training a puppy.
