Your puppy or dog should have a travel crate that can be used in the car for trips to the vet and is also a safe place for him when you’re unable to be with him. The small size crate is perfect for this and your puppy can also sleep in his crate until he is reliable in his house-training. Using crates and kennels for house-training is explained in How to Raise a Puppy You Can Live With – Chapter 5

If you are gone for extended periods of time during the day you may want to consider purchasing a puppy pen for your puppy. A puppy pen provides a safe area for your puppy to stay when your not able to monitor him and he is being house-trained. An exercise pen can be used outside to designate the place where you would like your puppy to eliminate and multiple pens can be connected to make a small portable yard for you pet. If you decide to confine your puppy to a small room (such as a bathroom or kitchen) he will most likely chew on the cabinets while he is teething. Remember, prevention is the key when training a puppy.

Your puppy will need a correct size collar or harness from the day you bring him home. Lit’l Pals makes the right size for your puppy or dog and don’t forget the lead or the name tag with your phone number. Age Appropriate toys are fun and an essential part of development for your puppy or dog. They should make noise, roll, and have different textures for chewing. You  should supervise playtime and make sure that you puppy or dog does not tear apart or swallow parts of the toy.

We believe that your puppy or dog benefits from eating a high quality puppy or dog food. Dog food with wholesome natural ingredients  promotes overall health. That is why we recommend you feed a premium dog food for the life of the dog and never feed grocery store grade food or any food that contains hormones, steroids, artificial preservatives, colors, flavors or by-products.

Dental disease is one of the most common disorders in dogs. Good dental care includes professional veterinary dental care and home oral care including tooth brushing. Brushing your dog’s teeth should not be a chore for you or your dog. Instead, it should be an enjoyable time for both of you. If you take things slowly at the beginning and give lots of praise, you and your dog will start looking forward to your brushing sessions. In addition to brushing your pets teeth you can also provide them with dental biscuits. I recommend Premium All Natural Biscuits.
